Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is an important member of the maintenance team that will execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for critical equipment getting the support from the planning and scheduling process. This position will be responsible for working with the maintenance and production teams to coordinate maintenance functions and support maintenance planner in the coordination of maintenance jobs. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for executing planned maintenance tasks, delivering timely feedback for planning and scheduling, and populating equipment historical information in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This position must demonstrate a pattern of safe behavior, good attendance, good disciplinary record, initiative, effective communication skills, and problem-solving skills.

The Maintenance Supervisor position requires medium to advance-level of mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting knowledge. This position will lead repairs and preventative maintenance activities to heavy industrial machinery/equipment at the mine site working in coordination with the plant mechanical technicians and contractors. This position will be expected to always adhere to all safety regulations and practice safe operations.

Essential Functions

  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
  • Perform duties safely and responsibly while always observing all safety and health rules.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in execution of maintenance projects and programs.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Planner to prioritize maintenance workload and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of how equipment works, including but not limited to water pumps, baghouses, conveyors (Belt Scale Calibration), Slurry pumps, blowers, dryers, minerals separators, machine repairs, with the ability to troubleshoot and analyze equipment problems.
  • Make sure equipment repairs are being done properly and parts are being issued to the work orders, check the status of equipment availability, and work with operation supervisors to coordinate downtime.
  • Coordinate work with Planner/Scheduler and follow up on completed jobs/WOs.
  • Support planners to keep updated equipment historical information (maintenance performed), equipment bill of material, and information for equipment and parts refurbishment process.
  • Work with Warehouse specialist to maintain critical spares for plant equipment.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards in the maintenance work areas.
  • Assists with any other task required by the management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering is preferred; an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Intermediate to Advance-level maintenance, planning, equipment/process design and manufacturing is required.
  • Four (4) plus years of relevant work experience in mining, or industrial or manufacturing environment
  • PMI Scheduling Professional certification will be a plus.
  • Experience supervising technical groups is required.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and experience to a wide variety of situations, recommends solutions to mechanical system problems.
  • Ability to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language is required.
  • Ability to read and elaborate projects report in English language is required.
  • Must have a team player attitude with a high-level of self-motivation requiring minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills is required.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
