Summary
Maintains and repairs vehicles and industrial machinery in a shop setting, performing diagnostics, routine maintenance, and part replacements to ensure reliability and safety.
Summary of Position:
We are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles. This person will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them, aiming to maximum reliability and functionality.
Job Requirements include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned per the direction of the Maintenance Manager and/or Executive Officers.
- Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings.
- Disassemble and reassemble components and engines.
- Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
- Identify mechanical problems, often by using diagnostic equipment.
- Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly.
- Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
- Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune-ups, checking fluid levels, brake replacement and rotating tires.
- Explain to clients their automotive problems and the repairs done on their vehicles.
- Repair shop equipment, industrial machinery (metal cutting saws, welders, benders, press brake, etc), aerial lifts, and fork-trucks.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
- Keep logs on work and issues.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
