Maintenance Technician performing electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance and repairs on production machinery and plant facilities in Amarillo, TX. Responsibilities include equipment inspection, troubleshooting, safety compliance, commissioning, and generating maintenance reports.
General Description/ Objective
The Maintenance Technician will report to the local Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance activities in the whole plant and company facilities, inspecting equipment and systems.
Roles and Tasks
- Repair production machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance of machines according to safety instructions, by detecting solutions and suggesting proper use to production operators
- Check the control panel of electric transformer every day, comparing the rate of active and reactive energy consumption; notify the Maintenance Supervisor, if there is any fault on rates
- Operate maintenance activities on electrical equipment according to safety instructions
- Notify the Maintenance Supervisor, about needed electrical or mechanical spare parts
- Operate maintenance and repair activities on electrical and mechanical systems in Plant Premises, facilities, production areas etc.
- Guarantee electrical connection of new machineries
- Generate periodical maintenance reports
- Ensure the whole lightings are working and repaired when broken
- Take safety precautions against electrical hazards in every part of Plant
- Take precautions against electrical failures of all machineries and facilities
- Operate commissioning of machineries and equipment after reparation
- Respond to the counter switch of transformer, when there is any need
- After fixing the failure, fill the related failure form and deliver it to the maintenance supervisor
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor, communicate promptly at all levels and deliver proper periodical reports.

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or minimum 5 years of maintenance experience
Specific Knowledge
- Self-starter and proactive person
- Capable to influence
- Excellent communication skills
Languages
- Able to communicate in English is a must
IT/ Technical Knowledge
- Basic computer knowledge
Minimum Experience Required
- 2+ years experience in maintenance, dealing with mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical maintenance, being involved in analysis, repairs and commissioning.
Internal Candidates and/or Employees from other GRI factories, are considered competent for this job if they have at least 2 years of experience on similar processes.
Preferable Requirements
- Forklift operator certificate
- Crane operator certificate
- Spanish is a plus
