Summary
Maintains and repairs production equipment, building systems, and machinery in a manufacturing facility using hand/power tools, welding, plumbing, and electrical skills.
DESCRIPTION: Keep all production equipment running in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Maintain the building and property.
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Technician primary responsibilities are:
- Work in a safe, and courteous manner. Maintenance employees are safety leaders.
- Regular attendance is an expectation of the job.
- Equipment and building maintenance including machine repairs, welding, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Use hand tools (i.e. screw drivers, hammer, mallet, vice grips)
- Use power tools (i.e. lathe machine, milling machine, welding, table saw, drill press)
- Drive company trucks, forklifts, and mini cart.
- Develop service contacts to handle repairs beyond internal capabilities.
- Perform maintenance jobs orders as assigned.
- Minimize machine maintenance impact on production.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
- Order repair parts and services utilizing ERP system.
- Maintain records of maintenance performed utilizing internet-based CMMS.
- Maintain company truck and service records
- Assist in the on the job training of employees in lower classifications.
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department
