JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing maintenance support for the plant, specializing in mechanical capability. This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This job creates value by completing preventive and corrective maintenance, leading to increased uptime and reliability.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot equipment such as compressors, turbines, pumps, gearboxes, rotating equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, valves, and other mechanical devices.
  • Ability to complete installation, alignment, dismantling, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in a manner that improves asset and plant reliability.
  • Perform periodic maintenance routines to identify and correct mechanical defects to extend asset life.
  • Maintaining operations equipment to achieve optimal performance levels.
  • Safely perform and document maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting and field analysis capability to provide solutions quickly and accurately, even in stressful situations.
  • Completion of equipment repairs within OEM specifications by following mechanical best practices to ensure reliable equipment.
  • Utilize precision alignment practices on rotating equipment and check connected piping for pipe strain.
  • Complete troubleshooting and repair update information for files, logs, and drawings for work on designated mechanical equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on mechanical devices using hand and power tools, electrical and electronic measuring and test devices, diagnostic equipment, vendor literature, technical manuals, blueprints, and other diagrams.
  • Hands-on approach with strong work ethic.
  • Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
