Maintenance Technician
About the Role:
We’re looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Trinidad call center. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the facility remains safe, comfortable, and fully operational. From minor repairs to routine checks, your work will help keep our environment running smoothly for both staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance of the building, including electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and general infrastructure.
Respond quickly to maintenance requests from staff or supervisors (e.g. lighting issues, leaks, office furniture repairs, etc.).
Complete minor repairs such as changing bulbs, painting, assembling equipment, or patching minor wall damage.
Maintain the cleanliness and order of storage and maintenance areas.
Monitor and ensure proper operation of key systems like backup generators and A/C units.
Work in line with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
Liaise with external service providers or contractors for specialised repairs when needed.
Keep accurate logs of work done and report any major concerns to the Facilities Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Requirements:
Secondary School Leaving Certificate (CXC passes); technical or vocational certification in plumbing, electrical, or air conditioning is an asset.
2+ years’ experience in general maintenance or a similar role, ideally in a commercial or office setting.
Knowledge of basic repairs in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and air conditioning systems.
Ability to use power tools and manual tools safely and correctly.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Must be physically fit and able to lift or move items when required.
Willingness to work flexible hours or respond to after-hours emergencies if necessary.
Team player with a positive and reliable work ethic.
