Maintenance Technician
Cablex is expanding its UK presence and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support reliable manufacturing operations through high‑quality equipment servicing, calibration, and facility maintenance.
This is a hands‑on, technically focused role where you’ll ensure production equipment, tooling, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and in full compliance with quality and audit requirements. You’ll work closely with production, quality, and management teams to minimise downtime, support audits, and maintain high workplace standards.
What you’ll be doing
Carrying out scheduled calibration activities and maintaining accurate calibration and maintenance records
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance in line with approved maintenance plans
Maintaining and repairing tooling, trolleys, hand forklifts, and workshop equipment to ensure safe operation
Servicing solder extraction systems, drain water filters, and other auxiliary production equipment
Coordinating external service and repair activities with approved providers
Issuing hand tools to operators and maintaining accurate tool tracking and service history
Managing consumable and spare‑part stock levels for machinery and equipment
Supporting internal and external audits and demonstrating correct tool usage and safe work practices
Performing general facility maintenance, including lighting, workstations, airlines, and layout modifications
Supporting production layout changes to improve workflow and operational efficiency
What we’re looking for
Extensive hands‑on experience in mechanical systems, machine maintenance, and repair
Background in electronics, manufacturing, or assembly environments with exposure to production machinery
Competence in soldering, pneumatic and hydraulic adjustment, troubleshooting, and assembly tasks
Experience using precision measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometres, and pull‑force testers
Safe operation of electrical power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and workshop equipment
Strong computer literacy with experience using maintenance systems and electronic documentation
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and prioritisation skills in a fast‑paced environment
Understanding of quality, compliance, and workplace safety requirements in manufacturing settings
Trade qualification or training in manufacturing, electrical, electronics, or a related field (preferred)
