Handy with tools? Enjoy fixing things and figuring out how stuff works?
Chick-fil-A Alpine Avenue is hiring a mechanically inclined maintenance technician / handyman to keep our restaurant and kitchen equipment running well — handling preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep, and catching small issues before they become big ones. You'll also cross-train as a Back of House Team Member, working with our kitchen team when you're not on maintenance duty.
Pay: $18–$19/hour to start, based on availability, experience, and mechanical competency.
What You'll Do
Follow a preventative maintenance schedule; change fryer oil, replace HVAC filters, service kitchen equipment
Handle general repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues — classic handyman work
Keep maintenance records organized; flag concerns to leadership before they grow
Cross-train in the kitchen: food prep, stations, catering orders, stocking, opening/closing
Schedule
Part-Time and Full-Time available
Combined maintenance and kitchen shifts (Full-Time)
Larger repair projects may fall on Sundays (closed to guests)
Saturday availability required
What We're Looking For
Mechanical aptitude or hands-on handyman/repair experience — no certification required, we'll train
Background in facilities maintenance, restaurant equipment, automotive, HVAC, or general repair is a plus
Comfortable using basic hand tools, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around commercial kitchen equipment
Dependable, self-motivated, and takes ownership without needing to be reminded
At least 18, legally authorized to work in the U.S., reliable transportation
Why Team Members Stay: Closed Sundays · Free meals on shift · Health/dental with employer contribution (qualifying FT) · Scholarship opportunities · Real path to leadership · Locally owned and operated
If you enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, and being part of a strong team, we'd love to meet you. Qualified candidates are contacted by phone or email within 1–3 business days — please don't contact the restaurant directly about your application status.
About
In our kitchens, we focus on fresh and simple ingredients. And we always have. Since the beginning, we've served chicken that is whole breast meat, with no added fillers or hormones, and we bread it by hand in our restaurants. Produce is delivered fresh to our kitchens several times a week. Salads are chopped and prepared fresh throughout the day. Whole lemons are freshly squeezed in our restaurants and combined with pure cane sugar and water (yep, that’s all) to make Chick-fil-A Lemonade®. It may not be the easy way, but it's the only way we know.
