Maintenance Technician I

Entry salary is $34,398 ($16.54/hour)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of basic preventative maintenance and repair tasks on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems in County buildings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to carpentry, painting, grounds keeping, and custodial work. This position also provides assistance with minor building construction, renovation, and general carpentry work.

• Paints buildings and structures, as required.
• Installs sheetrock in various facilities.
• Constructs walls and performs other carpentry duties.
• Installs carpet and other types of flooring.
• Provides maintenance on mechanical locking systems.
• Performs minor renovations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on buildings.
• Constructs and forms concrete.
• Lays construction blocks.
• Performs routine maintenance on various equipment.
• Assists with custodial duties.
• Assists with interoffice mail delivery.
• Assists with grounds keeping duties.
• Purchases materials, parts, supplies, etc. for work orders with County purchasing credit card according to County policy.
• Performs basic electrical work.
• Performs basic plumbing work.
• Performs basic HVAC work.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
