Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the hotel is maintained in excellent condition, delivering a safe, comfortable, and visually appealing environment for both guests and team members. This role plays a critical part in the overall guest experience by proactively maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, while responding quickly and effectively to maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, furniture, and finishes
- Maintain all public areas, including the lobby, restaurant, rooftop spaces, fitness center, and exterior grounds, ensuring they meet brand and cleanliness standards
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests with a high level of professionalism and urgency
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and reduce unexpected breakdowns
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems including heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Assist with ongoing property improvement projects, renovations, and seasonal preparations
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, local codes, and company policies
- Maintain organized records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment inspections
- Monitor the condition of the property and proactively identify areas needing attention or repair
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping and front desk teams to prioritize room readiness and minimize out-of-order rooms
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial property, or similar environment preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills for work order systems and communication
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed
