Maintenance Technician

Summary

The outline of these duties has some specific requirements. This position must always be alert and aware of the packaging processes to ensure that the highest quality of production is offered to the customer correctly and without delay. This position works closely with all departments to ensure all regulations and requirements are met.

Schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Must work safely and follow all safety procedures and processes.

2. Must keep all equipment in proper working condition with as few delays to the production of the product as possible.

3. Must keep all preventative maintenance up to date.

4. Must be able to notice missing preventative maintenance opportunities and update them.

5. Must keep scheduled monthly maintenance up to date and documented.

6. Must be able to perform any Unscheduled/Corrective Maintenance on equipment when needed as well as correctly filling out the Unscheduled/Corrective Maintenance Forms.

7. Must be able to set up equipment for changeovers with limited delays in production startups.

8. Must keep work area and tools clean and orderly.

9. Must be able to communicate efficiently.

10. Must be able to record work effectively and efficiently.

11. From time to time fill in for production personnel at any position on the production line.

12. When maintenance issues arise, must be willing to work the required hours to assist in getting the equipment installed and/or repaired to allow production to resume as quickly as possible.

13. Responsible for installing and assisting other personnel in the installation of new systems.

Qualifications

Must be able to read and comprehend weight and measuring devices.

Must be responsible and be self-motivated.

Must demonstrate manual dexterity and attention to details

Knowledge of Compressed air / pneumatics, electrical single and three phase, control circuits, sensors, cylinders, and conveyors.

Must be able to work with all types of hand tools and power tools normally used on maintaining equipment and or facility.

Must be able to always follow rules and instructions, adhere to the high standards set forth by management and Apace Packaging.

Must be able to multitask and work with multiple personalities.

Education and/or Experience

High School or equivalent.

Mathematical Skills

Excellent reasoning ability and math skills are necessary for regulatory compliance.
