Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems in a fast-paced corrugated packaging environment. This role supports efficient operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment runs safely and reliably, while assisting with mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair projects as directed by the Maintenance Leadership.
Essential Job Functions:
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on corrugators, conveyors, die cutters, stackers, and any other equipment in the facility.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production issues
- Inspect machinery to identify potential problems and recommend corrective actions
Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on production equipment
- Identify and repair air, water, glue, oil, and assist with steam leaks
- Troubleshoot and repair basic pumps and pump systems
- Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders
- Repair or replace cylinders and other mechanical components
- Work with various mechanical hardware (fasteners, fittings, threads, etc.)
- Perform basic fabrication and repairs using welding, machining, and fastening methods
- Work with bearings, bushings, locking collars, chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys, and tensioners
- Maintain proper alignment, tolerances, and mechanical fit
- Assist with rigging and setup for roll changes and major repairs
- Assemble racking, equipment, and related structures
- Read and interpret basic schematics and mechanical drawings
Electrical & Facility Support
- Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Maintain facility systems including lighting, basic electrical, and compressed air systems
General Maintenance Duties
- Replace or repair defective components such as motors, belts, bearings, valves, and sensors
- Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and installations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
Scheduling & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Work overtime and weekends as required
- Support maintenance team members with repairs and projects as needed
