Management Analyst
This position is located in the Policy and Programs Division, Office of Counterintelligence, Domestic Operations Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/CI/PPD). The Office of Counterintelligence works to detect, deter, and neutralize the efforts of foreign intelligence services targeting Department of State and foreign affairs community personnel, facilities, and missions worldwide. Provides oversight on the screening, review, evaluation, and adjudication of security clearance cases that pose potential national security or counterintelligence risks.
Leads deliberations within Special Adjudications Assessment Team (SAAT) to determine the appropriate action to be taken in cases where substantial foreign influence (FI) and/or foreign persuasion (FP) issues are present.
Conducts studies of current methods and practices used in screening FI/FP cases and recommends changes to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the process.
Establishes liaisons in the intelligence and law enforcement community to exchange information on counterintelligence matters of mutual interest and concern.
Oversees the management of contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions and identifying and rectifying problems to ensure satisfactory work.
