Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations, Headquarters, Tactical Communications Program located in Washington, D.C. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
Utilize your skills supporting Air and Marine Operations (AMO), Tactical Communications Program (TACCOM) as a technical lead and acquisition program professional responsible for end-to-end management of complex TACCOM acquisition efforts. This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Typical duties include: Conducting research and analysis on emerging communication technologies to improve mission capabilities, support modernization, and inform acquisition, implementation, and program decisions. Leading Integrated Product Teams (IPT), working groups, and technical reviews across engineering, logistics, finance, and stakeholder communities to coordinate requirements, resolve issues, evaluate alternatives, and execute assigned acquisition programs. Managing acquisition program execution by monitoring cost, schedule, performance, milestones, risks, and corrective actions to ensure program objectives remain on target. Developing, reviewing, and managing high-value procurement and acquisition documentation, including statements of work (SOW), independent government cost estimates (IGCE), procurement packages, contractor proposals, award recommendations, and complex contract or service agreement materials. Providing technical, program management, and executive-level communication support through briefings, reports, schedules, recommendations, and guidance to leadership, DHS offices, contractors, external partners, and industry stakeholders.
