Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized
Export Import Manager
specializing in the international mobile trade industry. In this role, you will lead our global trade operations, managing the seamless end-to-end logistics, customs compliance, and supply chain strategies for mobile devices, components, and related electronics.
The ideal candidate will have sharp commercial acumen in the consumer electronics sector, a strong grasp of international trade laws, and proven experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and overseas distributors.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Operations Management: Oversee and streamline all international import/export shipments for mobile phones, tablets, and consumer electronics.
- Compliance & Regulatory Control: Ensure strict compliance with Singapore Customs regulations, Strategic Goods Control (SGCA) if applicable, and destination country import laws.
- Documentation & Customs Clearance: Manage and verify critical trade documentation including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and permit declarations (Tradenet).
- Vendor & Forwarder Relations: Negotiate freight rates, evaluate freight forwarder performance, and select optimal logistics partners to minimize transit times and costs.
- Risk & Inventory Management: Track high-value mobile inventory in transit, manage supply chain risks, and handle cargo insurance claims or customs discrepancies efficiently.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement, sales, and finance teams to align shipment schedules with market demand and cash flow cycles.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in import/export operations, with at least 2 years specifically within the mobile trade, smartphone wholesaling, or consumer electronics sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Singapore Customs regulations, Tradenet, HS code classification for electronics, and Incoterms 2020.
- Key Competencies: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively manage relationships with global suppliers and local authorities.
- Attributes: High integrity and meticulous attention to detail required for handling high-value electronic cargo.
