Manager, Aerospace, Defense, and Government Consulting
This position plays a critical role in supporting multiple clients and delivering high‑impact guidance across a wide range of government contracting needs.
The Manager will lead and execute engagements that help companies navigate regulatory compliance, strategic planning, business operations, and complex accounting challenges.
Typical engagements include federal audit support, claim and termination support, indirect rate development, regulatory compliance, contract management, internal controls and process improvement, and financial management.
This role partners with companies of all sizes nationwide, providing both strategic insight and hands‑on support. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project management capability, and the ability to mentor team members while maintaining exceptional client relationships.
Key Responsibilities & Expertise
- Interest in a client‑facing, consultative role, including interaction with C‑Suite executives
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
- Experience developing provisional billing rates and indirect rates
- Experience supporting or responding to federal audits
- Strong understanding of indirect rates, budgeting, and forecasting
- Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS)
- Experience working with contractor business systems (Accounting, Contractor Purchasing, Estimating, Property Management, EVMS, MMAS)
- Working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), including agency supplements, with emphasis on: FAR Part 12 – Commercial Contracting, FAR Part 15 – Contracting by Negotiation, FAR Part 30- Cost Accounting Standards Administration, and FAR Part 31 – Contract Cost Principles & Procedures
- Experience with government contractor proposals, including RFP briefs, cost proposal volume management, and pricing
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience at a government contractor, former auditor at the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), or public accounting/consulting firm.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software.
- Availability to work in the office two days per week is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, related field or applicable work experience
