Manager, Application System Development
Key responsibilities:
Coach analysts; set operating rhythm and quality standards
Triage requests; define scope, timelines, and success criteria with stakeholders
Do hands-on analysis to answer priority questions and unblock delivery
Turn analysis into executive-ready insights (story, assumptions, limits)
Improve data inventory and documentation to increase reuse and reduce rework
Must-Have
SQL (advanced): complex queries, window functions, multi-schema joins; able to navigate large unfamiliar data environments and get to answers independently
People management: experience leading a small team; able to allocate work, coach junior analysts, and keep the team unblocked without constant escalation
Cross-domain analytical thinking: comfortable joining data across business areas (e.g., credit, fraud, collections) to answer a single business question; sees connections others miss
Comfort with fragmented, incomplete data: able to design the approach for navigating disconnected source systems, reconcile inconsistencies, and piece together a coherent picture
AI-first mindset: daily user of AI tools; sets the standard for the team and is the strongest AI practitioner in the room
Stakeholder communication: able to translate analytical findings into clear, non-technical language for business audiences
Attention to detail: finance-grade accuracy; accountable for the quality of everything the team produces
Nice-to-Have
Power BI: building and reviewing dashboards
Snowflake or any cloud data warehouse
Python or scripting for automation
Experience in financial services, payments, or fintech
Familiarity with data cataloguing or data inventory work at scale
