Manager, Asset & Portfolio Management

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management and Investment Strategy

  • Develop and implement investment strategies for assigned mutual funds in line with approved investment objectives and mandates.
  • Make investment and disinvestment decisions within approved limits and delegated authority.
  • Construct and maintain diversified portfolios based on the fund's investment strategy and risk profile.
  • Monitor portfolio composition, asset allocation, liquidity, concentration, and risk exposures.
  • Review and balance portfolios when necessary based on market conditions, fund objectives, and investment strategy.
  • Ensure that portfolios are managed in accordance with approved investment policies and guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance portfolio performance and improve risk-adjusted returns.


Portfolio Performance and Risk Management

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of assigned mutual funds against approved benchmarks and investment objectives.
  • Conduct performance attribution and identify factors contributing to portfolio performance.
  • Monitor portfolio risk, including market, liquidity, concentration, credit, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks, as applicable.
  • Take appropriate action to manage identified risks within approved parameters.
  • Ensure that portfolios remain within approved investment limits and regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate significant portfolio risks, breaches, and performance concerns to management promptly.

Business Development and Fund Growth

  • Support initiatives aimed at increasing assets under management (AUM).
  • Work with the Sales and Business Development teams to identify opportunities to attract new investors.
  • Provide investment insights and product information to support client acquisition and retention.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of mutual fund products and investment solutions.
  • Monitor competitor funds and market offerings to identify opportunities for product improvement.

Fund Operations and Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of investment transactions.
  • Work closely with the Research, Finance, Compliance, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth fund administration.
  • Ensure all investment transactions are properly documented and authorized.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, fund mandates, investment guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Support the preparation and review of fund valuations, where applicable.
  • Ensure that portfolio records and investment documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.

Reporting and Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare regular portfolio performance reports for management and relevant committees.
  • Present portfolio performance, strategy, risks, and outlook to management and investment committees.
  • Provide relevant investment information to the Sales, Business Development, and Client Relationship teams.
  • Support investor meetings and presentations where required.
  • Respond to investment-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investment Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant investment/finance qualification is an advantage.

· Investment Advisers License by SEC is required.

  • At least 3–5 years' relevant experience in portfolio management, asset management, investment management, research, treasury, or a related financial services environment.
  • Experience managing mutual funds, collective investment schemes, pension funds, or institutional portfolios will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of investment analysis and portfolio construction.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of portfolio management and investment principles.
  • Good understanding of mutual funds and collective investment schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of asset allocation, diversification, portfolio construction, and balancing.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income and equity markets.
  • Knowledge of portfolio performance measurement and bench marking.
  • Understanding of investment risk management techniques.
  • Strong financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant investment/portfolio management systems.
  • Good knowledge of applicable securities and investment management regulations.
