Manager Business Office

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Office Manager to oversee daily revenue cycle and business office operations. This position is responsible for managing billing, collections, accounts receivable, cash posting, and staff performance to ensure strong financial results and compliance with payor requirements.

  • Minimum of 2 years of business office, revenue cycle, or healthcare financial operations experience required with 1 year of supervisory or management experience required.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Monitor and report on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, dailycensus, etc. in conjunction with the CFO.• Establish and maintain controls for all cash collected and posted in patient accounting system.• Maintain effective communication with third party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impedecash flow and detract from patient/member satisfaction.• Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management andcommunication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.• Maintain effective communication with the leadership team to ensure that all third-party complianceguidelines are met.• Select and monitor outside collection vendors engaged in the collection of facility receivables. Reviewand balance agency reports to system reports and approve agency invoices.• Lead and provide operational directives for all business office activities related to the claimsmanagement and collections of the facility receivables and ensures timely, efficient cash collections tosupport the overall financial goals of the facility.• Define and provide the necessary support and leadership to achieve departmental goals and objectives.• Review all statistical reports to monitor trends, determine operational deficiencies and implementcorrective action plans as necessary.• Work closely with Utilization Review and Admissions staff to ensure proper authorization of patientinsurance coverage.• May include managing and directing subordinate staff to identify goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • 2+ years of healthcare business office or revenue cycle experience required.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of billing, collections, accounts receivable, and revenue cycle management. Behavioral health experience preferred.
