About HealthEdge
HealthEdge is a leading healthcare SaaS company delivering modern, cloud-native solutions that transform how health plans operate. With a global workforce spanning the US, India, Philippines, Mexico, and the UK, our Business Technology team powers the tools and platforms that keep HealthEdge running at scale. Atlassian tools – Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence – sit at the center of how work gets planned, tracked, and documented across the entire organization.
Role Overview
The Manager, Atlassian Products is a player-manager responsible for leading HealthEdge's Atlassian platform team while remaining technically engaged in the work. You will manage a globally distributed team of Atlassian Administrators – supporting thousands of users across engineering, IT, product, and business functions. Reporting to the Director, Business Technology, you are accountable for platform health, governance, stakeholder relationships, and team development.
This is a growth environment. The Atlassian team today spans approximately 14 people and is expected to grow toward 24 as HealthEdge's platform needs expand. You'll be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and developing talent for a 6-8 person group while ensuring the platform continues to meet the demands of a complex, fast-moving organization.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, manage, and develop a globally distributed team of Atlassian Administrators in India
- Drive hiring for open roles on the Atlassian Products team, partnering with HR and the Director, Business Technology to scale the team toward its target size
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support career development for all direct reports
- Build a high-performing team culture grounded in platform rigor, user focus, and continuous improvement
- Manage team capacity, workload distribution, and prioritization across the support queue and project backlog
Platform Strategy & Governance
- Own the Atlassian platform roadmap in partnership with the Director, Business Technology – defining priorities, driving improvements, and aligning with organizational needs
- Establish and enforce governance standards for project structure, permissions, naming conventions, workflows, and Confluence space management across the organization
- Lead the evaluation and lifecycle management of Atlassian Marketplace apps — assessing fit, managing licenses, and governing usage
- Oversee Atlassian Access configuration including SSO, SCIM provisioning, security policies, and license management
- Drive platform hygiene initiatives and ensure the environment remains clean, well-documented, and audit-ready
Technical Oversight & Solution Design
- Serve as the escalation point for complex platform issues and solution design decisions that exceed senior administrator scope
- Guide the design and implementation of advanced Jira, JSM, and Confluence configurations including complex workflows, automation frameworks, and cross-project solutions
- Oversee the development and maintenance of scripts and automation rules across the platform
- Ensure platform changes follow change management practices with appropriate testing, documentation, and rollback planning
- Stay current on Atlassian product developments, roadmap changes, and best practices, and translate these into team guidance
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary business relationship owner for Atlassian products across IT, Engineering, Product, and business functions
- Partner with senior stakeholders to understand evolving platform needs and translate them into prioritized, scalable solutions
- Run regular stakeholder touchpoints, communicate platform changes and improvements proactively, and manage escalations professionally
- Partner with the ITSM team to ensure JSM is optimized for IT service delivery – SLAs, queues, automations, and reporting
Operations & Reporting
- Own the Atlassian support queue at a team level – ensuring SLA compliance, queue health, and consistent quality of delivery
- Produce and present regular reporting on platform health, team performance, license utilization, and open initiatives
- Manage the Atlassian vendor relationship including renewal negotiations, support cases, and TAM engagement
- Support audit and compliance activities related to Atlassian access, configuration, and data governance
What You'll Bring
Required
- 5+ years of hands-on Atlassian administration experience, with deep expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence
- 2+ years of people management experience, including hiring, developing, and performance-managing technical team members
- Proven ability to lead a team in a global, distributed environment
- Strong platform governance experience – designing and enforcing standards across a large, complex Atlassian environment
- Experience with Atlassian Cloud administration including Atlassian Access, SSO/SCIM, and security policy management
- Hands-on experience with Jira automation (native) and advanced automation tooling
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into platform solutions
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Preferred
- Atlassian certifications (ACP-120, ACP-420, ACP-620, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Experience managing Atlassian teams or platforms through growth, migrations, or consolidation projects
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and applying them within JSM for enterprise ITSM
- Experience with Atlassian Marketplace apps at scale (ScriptRunner, Insight/Assets, Advanced Roadmaps, Elements Connect, or similar)
- Exposure to REST API integrations with Atlassian platforms
- Experience in a healthcare, SaaS, or other regulated industry environment
- Background in post-merger IT integration or multi-instance Atlassian environments
What Success Looks Like
Within 90 days, you have a clear picture of the current team, platform state, and stakeholder landscape, have identified the highest-priority gaps in governance and delivery, and have begun filling open roles. Within six months, the team is operating with clear standards, the support queue is consistently within SLA, and key stakeholders have a trusted partner in you. Within a year, the Atlassian Products team has grown toward its target size, platform governance is mature and well-documented, and you have established the function as a reliable, high-performing part of the Business Technology organization.
About the Team
You'll lead a dedicated Atlassian Products team that is central to how HealthEdge operates. With Jira Software driving engineering and product delivery, JSM powering IT service management, and Confluence serving as the organization's knowledge backbone, the platform this team manages touches every function in the company. It's a high-visibility role with real impact — and a team and roadmap that reflect a serious, long-term investment in the Atlassian platform.
