Roles & responsibilities
The Manager/Lead Data Engineer will be part of the GDC CRC team, working in a technical leadership role within the Audit Data & Analytics domain. The role requires expertise in data engineering, analytics, and visualization, along with the ability to develop and apply knowledge of KPMG's proprietary Data & Analytics tools and audit methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions and insights.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL to process large and complex datasets.
Develop and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, semantic models, and DAX measures to enable self-service analytics.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation, validation, analysis, and reporting.
Leverage Alteryx to design and develop reusable workflows and macros for efficient data preparation, cleansing and transformation.
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered agents/copilots using LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI frameworks
Design and develop business applications and workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate to improve operational efficiency and user productivity.
Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of data & analytics solutions, ensuring adherence to SDLC.
Mentor team members through technical coaching, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, fostering continuous learning.
Manage project deliverables, track progress, mitigate risks, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.

Mandatory technical & functional skills:
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark for building scalable ETL/ELT solutions.
Proficiency in Alteryx workflow and macro development for data preparation, cleansing, and transformation.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational database technologies.
Strong experience in Power BI dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
Experience with low-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps for automation
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
