Manager, Capture & Proposal Management - Defense

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Establish capture and proposal management team to support a Bombardier Defense growth opportunity within the Defense sector.
  • Define a winning strategy in conjunction with Sales to deliver a quality proposal which meets the customers’ requirements.
  • Ensure that the proposal, strategy and product planning team members use the best practices and adhere to all processes.
  • Provide overall leadership and coordination of internal and external stakeholders such as Programs, Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and subcontractors during the development stage to establish the Program strategy and build proposals;
  • Implement an effective governance to ensure milestones are achieved per committed schedule and budget; including management reviews.
  • Develop a set of balanced customer-focused and business-focused performance indices and lead the team in achieving these targets.

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field), Science, Business or other field with significant experience in aerospace;
    You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in aerospace;
    You have 5-10 years experience in a business development, capture or program management;
  • You are a strategic thinker and able to provide direction on a variety of topics;
  • You have solid knowledge of industry free trends and competitor activity;
  • You are a leader with initiative, able to mobilize and engage both your direct team and supporting teams;
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesize information for executive level meetings and make recommendations;
  • You are able to develop and guide individuals in the production of comprehensive and compelling materials for engineering, operations and executive audiences;
  • You are able to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively while working towards aggressive deadlines;
  • You have working knowledge of and are eligible to view and handle Canadian Control Goods Regulations (CGR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
  • Ability to hold a NATO Secret clearance is an asset;
  • You have prior experience in Government tender processes;
  • You may be required to work extended hours and travel.
