The Role

The Manager, Collection & Digital Asset Management Systems (CDAMS) leads the development, maintenance, user support and training program for the Memorial’s Collection Management Systems (CMS), ingesting of digital assets and their integration with Collection records. The position also plays a leading role in the integration of the CMS with the Digital Asset Management System and provides strategic direction and management of the integrated system, policies and user groups.

This position is part of the Collection Services management team and is a critical leadership position in the section. The Manager, CDAMS is responsible for staff management and development of the CDAMS team, as well as leadership of the CMS users across the Memorial.

This position will initially be filled up until January 2027, with the possibility for extension and/or permanency.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall management of the Memorial’s CMS and play a leading role in the integrated CMS/ Digital Asset Management Systems (DAMS).
  • Manage the CMS Team in the delivery of the following outcomes:
    • Highly efficient and client focussed help desk for all CMS requests.
    • Successful training programs for new and existing users.
    • Analysis of system performance and user requirements and initiation and implementation of improvements and enhancements.
    • Comprehensive and up to date policies and procedures for collection, documentation and information.
    • Performance reporting on the system as well as overall management of user generated reports.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including IT and DAMS managers to ensure proactive, positive and consultative management of the integrated CMS/DAMS.
  • Manage the relationship with CMS vendors to ensure system performance and growth.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports and other documentation for executive management.
  • Develop and manage team members and demonstrate leadership across the Collection Services team.

Position Eligibility
  • Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
  • All applicants external to AWM that are offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a National Police Check, even if they currently hold a security clearance. The check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
