Manager, Commercial Operations
About The Role
This is an individual contributor role that requires extensive collaboration and the ability to influence without authority — driving alignment, decisions, and execution across Supply Chain, QA/RA, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Pricing, and external partners, as needed.
Success depends on building trust, leveraging subject matter expertise, and orchestrating cross-functional teams to achieve outcomes even without formal reporting lines. The role ensures data-driven, timely decisions that protect margin, optimize allocations, and maintain high customer service standards.
Generics Business Management
Demand Planning, Forecasting Reporting & Financial Analysis Support
- Support development and execution of the Generics commercial strategy set by the Leadership, translating priorities into operational plans
- Provide revenue, margin, and trend analysis for the Generics segment to inform P&L decisions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics to stay competitive
- Track sales performance, forecast demand, and provide regular business reports to management
- Analyze profitability, customer performance, and market trends for decision-making
- Develop & maintain competitive intelligence, market trend analysis, forecasting accuracy, chargeback analysis, product compliance tracking, and identification of market opportunities and threats
- Identify products approaching short-dated status on a monthly basis; work with commercial/marketing managers to finalize the product list to generate sales
Supply Chain & Operations Coordination
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery
- Optimize demand forecasting based on historical trends and new awards/losses to meet customer demand efficiently
Retail Product Management
- Oversee product allocation strategies, inventory management, demand planning, proactive compliance monitoring, and robust failure-to-supply management practices
- Support in developing annual marketing budgets, long-range strategic plans, pricing reviews, and identify opportunities for product lifecycle extension
- Implement continuous performance improvement programs, optimize stock replenishment processes, and minimize product shortages and wastage through robust logistics management
Minimize Company's Exposure with Trade Returns/Chargeback Claims
- Reduce ANI's payout to customers for chargeback/returns claims through timely analysis and decision-making on each claim (valid, invalid, dispute)
- Work with Finance to understand claims received by each customer group, in coordination with Trade Finance on the National Trade Return Goods Policy
- Evaluate claims received and analyze validity; recommend which to dispute vs. accept
- Work with commercial/marketing managers to close claims and inform Pricing teams to work with customers on resolution
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries of claims received on a periodic basis
- Execute allocation change requests as and when required
Success Measures
Forecast accuracy & timeliness; release on-time rate; allocation file timeliness; claims cycle time & $ exposure trend; trade partner SLP/SLA adherence; opportunity cycle time; short-dated disposition timeliness.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 4-5 years of experience (6+ years for Sr. Manager) in trade/commercial operations, pricing, or sales analytics within pharmaceutical/generics; direct generics trade experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with chargebacks, rebates, contract compliance, and/or trade returns processes
- Experience working with ERP/CRM and trade systems and pharmaceutical market data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health, MMIT)
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred
The base salary range for this position is $130K-150K; the exact salary depends on various factors such as experience, skills, education, location, competencies and industry-specific knowledge. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a competitive short term and long term incentive program based on performance and company results.
