You will develop compelling social media campaigns, lead video production, and create consistent visual assets using both traditional and AI-assisted design tools. Working closely with colleagues across departments, you will translate complex ideas into accessible, engaging stories for diverse audiences. You will also manage paid social campaigns, monitor performance, and maintain efficient workflows for creative requests. This is an opportunity to combine creativity, technology, and strategic thinking to support stronger leadership, workplace culture, and nonprofit communities.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead social media storytelling, visual content production, and cross-functional design support, ensuring that all communications remain engaging, consistent, and aligned with organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Social Media Strategy and Content: Develop and execute a multi-platform social media strategy that grows audience engagement through storytelling, warmth, and thought leadership while adhering to established brand guidelines.

  • Video Production: Lead the strategy and production of video content for social channels, campaigns, conferences, and program launches.

  • Campaign Management: Produce, schedule, and coordinate social media content to support key initiatives, events, and organizational announcements.

  • Paid Social Advertising: Manage paid social campaigns, including budget allocation, audience targeting, performance monitoring, and reporting.

  • Community Engagement: Moderate social media platforms, help manage the shared communications inbox, and maintain consistent communication with audiences.

  • Performance Analysis: Track and report on organic and paid social media performance, using insights to improve content effectiveness and audience growth.

  • AI-Assisted Design and Brand Management: Serve as the primary internal resource for AI-assisted design tools, including Claude Design, translating brand guidelines into high-quality visual assets for events, presentations, social media, and campaigns.

  • Brand Toolkit Development: Create and maintain templates, prompt guidelines, and visual references that support consistent, on-brand design with minimal revisions.

  • Template and Asset Management: Maintain reusable design libraries, including Canva templates, and organize photo, video, and other creative assets.

  • Event and Campaign Logistics: Coordinate merchandise ordering, fulfillment, and inventory for events, campaigns, and internal needs.

  • Cross-Departmental Design Support: Manage design requests submitted through Asana, deliver routine materials within agreed timelines, and identify requests that require additional clarification or brand review.

  • Creative Quality and Vendor Coordination: Assess when AI-assisted design tools can meet project needs and when specialized work should be referred to an external designer.

  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a creative and organized communications professional who combines strong visual judgment with social media expertise, practical design skills, and an interest in emerging AI tools. You should be comfortable managing multiple projects while collaborating with colleagues and communicating effectively with diverse audiences. Key qualifications include:

    • Relevant Experience: Five to seven years of experience in communications, social media, or creative content, ideally within a nonprofit or other mission-driven organization.

    • Visual Storytelling: A strong design sensibility and understanding of brand consistency, layout, visual hierarchy, and content quality. Formal graphic design training is not required.

    • Social Media and Video Production: Demonstrated experience creating video and social media content that builds an engaged audience, supported by a portfolio of relevant work.

    • Paid Campaign Management: Experience managing paid social media campaigns, budgets, audience targeting, and performance reporting.

    • Design and AI Tools: Working proficiency with design tools such as Canva and enthusiasm for developing expertise in AI-assisted design tools.

    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, compelling stories for different audiences.

    • Organization and Project Management: Strong planning and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage competing requests and deadlines across multiple departments. Experience with Asana or similar project management tools is desirable.

    • Inclusive Communications: A pluralistic and inclusive approach that respects the diversity of perspectives across the communities and professional groups served.

    • Mission Alignment: A strong commitment to advancing talent, leadership, and workplace culture across the nonprofit sector.

    • Location and Work Authorization: Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the country.
