Manager construction supervision & QSHE
Turner & Townsend is looking for a pragmatic and hands-on Manager Construction Supervision & QSHE to support the delivery of capital programmes within the logistics and energy transition sectors. The role combines construction supervision responsibilities for a new €20 million warehouse and EV charging hub development with QSHE oversight across a national EV charging infrastructure rollout programme in the Netherlands. This is a senior site-based role for someone who enjoys working closely with contractors, project teams and clients to drive safe, compliant and high-quality project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Construction supervision
- Act as Turner & Townsend's day-to-day representative during the construction phase.
- Monitor contractor performance against programme, quality and safety requirements.
- Coordinate site inspections, progress reviews and key stakeholder interactions.
- Identify risks, issues and opportunities, and proactively support mitigation activities.
- Review construction methodologies and site logistics plans.
- Monitor compliance with permits, design requirements and statutory obligations.
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Provide regular project reports to the client and Turner & Townsend management team.
QSHE oversight
- Support the implementation of Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental standards across the EV charging infrastructure programme.
- Carry out site audits and inspections.
- Monitor contractor compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Review risk assessments, method statements and permit documentation.
- Support incident management and lessons learned processes.
- Track QSHE performance indicators and prepare management reports.
- Promote a positive safety culture across the programme and wider project teams.
Stakeholder management
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors and local authorities.
- Support project meetings and governance forums.
- Act as a trusted advisor on construction delivery, safety and quality matters.
- Escalate critical issues in a timely and structured manner.
Skills and experience
Essential
- HBO degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Built Environment, Facility Management or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, site management, clerk of works, contractor management or similar roles.
- Experience working for a contractor, developer, engineering consultancy or project management consultancy.
- Solid understanding of Dutch construction regulations and HSE requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make practical decisions on site.
- Fluent in Dutch and professionally proficient in English.
Preferred
- Experience in logistics, industrial, warehouse or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with EV charging infrastructure, utilities, energy or mobility projects.
- VCA VOL certification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning and project handover activities.
