Position Summary:

The Manager, Continuous Improvement leads the development and execution of continuous improvement across the iDC network. This role is responsible for establishing a consistent improvement methodology, prioritizing opportunities, and driving measurable, sustainable gains in safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost.

The position partners closely with site leadership, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, facilitate structured problem-solving and Kaizen activity, and ensure changes are translated into clear standard work and sustained operating practices. A key focus of the role is building continuous improvement capability within the organization by strengthening problem-solving discipline, improving process ownership, and ensuring operational gains are maintained across a dynamic, multi-site workforce environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Own the network continuous improvement and Kaizen calendar, including opportunity selection, chartering, pre-work, event facilitation, action tracking, and sustainment follow-up

• Deliver annual improvement targets in partnership with leadership, with clear project baselines, defined measurement methods, and Finance-validated results

• Lead high-impact improvement initiatives across the network and ensure projects are executed consistently using established Lean, A3, DMAIC, and structured problem-solving methodologies

• Establish and maintain standard continuous improvement methods, tools, templates, and governance to ensure a consistent approach across facilities

• Maintain a prioritized improvement pipeline by site, including estimated value, ownership, project stage, timing, and realized results

• Conduct post-implementation sustainment reviews and initiate corrective action where expected gains are not maintained

• Develop and manage a Cost of Poor-Quality program that identifies, quantifies, and prioritizes opportunities related to defects, rework, claims, errors, and customer escalations

• Establish process quality audits and translate findings, recurring failures, and customer issues into structured improvement initiatives in partnership with Quality and Compliance teams

• Build continuous improvement capability across the organization through training, coaching, certification, standard work, 5S, visual management, waste elimination, and structured problem solving

• Coach and develop CI team members and site practitioners, ensuring consistent project quality, methodology, and execution standards across the network

• Partner with site Leadership, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives, secure resources, and integrate improvement activity with operational requirements

• Ensure improvement projects are supported by reliable baselines, engineered standards, and validated performance data

• Assess continuous improvement maturity across facilities and develop action plans to strengthen site-level ownership, capability, and sustainment

• Prepare executive-level reporting on improvement pipeline, validated results, site maturity, key risks, and capability development

• Travel to network facilities as required to lead improvement activity, coach site teams, and verify implementation and sustainment

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive operational or continuous improvement leadership within a distribution, third-party logistics or high-volume fulfillment environment

• Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating Kaizen or structured improvement events end to end, including post-event sustainment

• Lean Six Sigma certification required, Green Belt minimum, Black Belt strongly preferred, or an equivalent demonstrated body of delivered work

• Multi-site experience, including delivering results at facilities where the role holds influence rather than direct authority

• Experience quantifying cost of poor quality, labor productivity or other operational benefit, and validating delivered results with Finance

• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, labor management systems and the operational reporting they produce

• Experience coaching, mentoring or supervising engineers, analysts or site-based improvement resources

• Experience building improvement capability in a high-turnover or contingent labor environment preferred

• Ability to travel across the network, approximately 50%, including California, Texas and East Coast facilities

Essential Job Functions
