About the Role:
Corus has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Manager of Corporate Finance in our Toronto office, reporting to the Corporate Controller. The role supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycle, in particular, the consolidation processes, intercompany eliminations and IFRS compliance.
As the successful candidate, you have a proven record of accomplishment in continuous improvement in a strong internal controls environment, while supporting the Company’s initiatives impacting accounting, reporting, disclosure processes, and controls. You have strong Excel and communication skills, to complete objectives effectively and efficiently.
You will contribute by:
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages, to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of consolidated results
Oversee consolidation and elimination entries; maintain and understand the elimination entities
Review and reconcile intercompany accounts
Educating business partners on the application of accounting standards
Prepare and review monthly accounting journal entries and account reconciliations
Support the maintenance of the consolidation and reporting systems
Research, assess and document accounting conclusions for new standards and other significant accounting judgements; support the implementation of new accounting standards
Maintain a strong understanding of IFRS and public company reporting requirements
Skills and experience you will bring:
A CPA professional designation with experience at a large accounting firm
Sound financial knowledge with a solid accounting background
Creative and analytical thinker, with attention to detail and accuracy
Superior organization skills including demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
High competency with financial systems/tools such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, etc.
Advanced analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to get into the details while simultaneously looking at the big picture
Advanced Excel skill ( V-lookup and pivot tables)
Demonstrated ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively
Strong communication/interpersonal skills
