Summary
The Corporate Fundraising & Business Development Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission by securing sustainable funding through strategic corporate partnerships. This position is responsible for identifying and cultivating high-potential corporate donors, developing compelling funding proposals, and managing end-to-end donor relationships from acquisition to stewardship. By aligning fundraising initiatives with corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandates and industry trends, the officer ensures compliance, impact reporting, and long-term engagement. The role also drives employee engagement through volunteering and workplace giving programs, while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless grant implementation and donor satisfaction. This position is critical to expanding the organization’s funding base and enhancing its visibility and credibility in the corporate sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic CSR fundraising plan in alignment with organizational goals and donor priorities.
- Identify, research, and cultivate prospective corporate donors across diverse industries using networks, databases, and industry forums.
- Lead the full-cycle donor acquisition process—from prospecting to proposal submission and closure.
- Design and deliver high-impact proposals, concept notes, budgets, presentations, and customized partnership pitches.
- Collaborate with program, finance, communications, and M&E teams to ensure proposals are compelling, accurate, and aligned with donor expectations.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with corporate donors through regular communication, site visits, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage grant implementation by coordinating timely submission of financial, impact, and utilization reports.
- Monitor compliance with donor commitments, reporting timelines, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain comprehensive grant records and donor documentation for audit and due diligence purposes.
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives, including volunteering programs, payroll giving, and workplace fundraising campaigns.
- Organize corporate events, awareness sessions, and donor appreciation activities.
- Partner with internal teams—including Programs, Finance, Communications, and Leadership—to ensure cohesive project execution and donor visit coordination.
- Stay informed on CSR trends, Companies Act regulations, donor policies, and sector benchmarks to inform strategy and positioning.
- Maintain up-to-date donor data in the CRM system, including pipeline status, interaction history, and forecasting.
- Generate monthly fundraising reports, dashboards, and performance insights for leadership review.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Development, Communications, or a related field; postgraduate qualification in Fundraising, CSR, or Management is advantageous.
- Proven experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or CSR engagement (minimum 3–5 years).
- Strong understanding of the Companies Act CSR provisions and corporate giving frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to write persuasive proposals and deliver compelling presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Proficient in CRM systems and data management tools; experience with fundraising software is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Familiarity with grant reporting, compliance standards, and donor stewardship best practices.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights effectively.
