The work KPMG Cyber delivers ranges from penetration testing and red teaming, through to cyber maturity assessments, acting as the virtual CISO, and delivering upon cyber transformation programmes (and everything else in-between).

The Opportunity:

  • We are looking for a dynamic cyber security consultant to join KPMG Cyber, bringing broad ranging experience across the discipline.
  • As a member of KPMG Cyber, you will manage client engagements - identifying, assessing, and managing cyber security related risks across a variety of organisations, industries and cyber security domains.
  • No two days will be the same, as we help clients work through a diverse range of cyber security challenges.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services is highly regarded and will be an advantage.
  • Day to Day You Will:

  • Plan, manage and deliver cyber security advisory and assurance engagements across a broad range of domains to help clients manage the evolving cyber security threat landscape.
  • Engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, developing collaborative relationships and working closely with specialists across the consulting team.
  • Participate in client proposals and grow team capabilities.
  • Uphold KPMG’s reputation through the quality, expertise, judgement, and innovation you bring to your work.
  • Work comfortably at pace while maintaining high attention to detail across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • What You'll Bring To Our Team:

  • 5+ years of cyber security consulting experience.
  • Broad practical experience in helping organisations manage their cyber security risks in areas such as security architecture, security risk management, security governance, security strategy, security incident management, and vulnerability management.
  • A strong understanding of cyber security expectations in the New Zealand public sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to help grow and mentor junior members of the team.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and professional qualifications.
  • Experience in managing expectations and individuals at various levels and collaborating across service lines and technical disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Driven and enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude and a strong sense of ownership to get the job done in a practical and pragmatic fashion.
