Manager, Data Platform Engineer
Summary
Leads the enterprise data platform at Prudential Thailand: designing, running, and governing Azure Databricks infrastructure (Unity Catalog, security, CI/CD with GitHub Actions), optimizing Azure costs, ensuring reliability through monitoring and incident management, and mentoring data platform engineers.
Accountability:
Lead the design, engineering, operation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise data platform.
Establish platform standards and governance across Unity Catalog, compute, access control, security, networking, and workload management.
Drive CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Databricks Asset Bundles, infrastructure automation, and self-service capabilities.
Ensure reliability through monitoring, alerting, performance optimization, incident management, and operational runbooks.
Optimize Azure and Databricks consumption using compute policies, tagging, workload optimization, and cost monitoring.
Enable secure integration and data sharing across internal teams, regional platforms, BI tools, and enterprise applications.
Lead platform modernization initiatives, including Unity Catalog adoption and workload migration.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Data Platform Engineers and collaborate with key stakeholders
Qualifications:
Minimum degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or related field
Strong experience as a Data Platform Engineer or Data Engineer, preferably in an enterprise cloud environment.
Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Python/PySpark, and SQL.
Experience administering Databricks at account and workspace levels, including identity, access control, service principals, and security governance.
Experience with GitHub, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, deployment practices, and change governance.
Experience with platform monitoring, audit logs, production incident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal with stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred: Databricks platform architecture and administration; GitHub Actions and Databricks Asset Bundles; Azure cloud and data services; Power BI, Synapse,Qlik replicate, or similar enterprise integrations; Delta Sharing; platform observability and automation.
