Manager Data Products Engineering(m/f/d)
Your Role
-
Take responsibility for the implementation, quality, and operation of data products on the Döhler data platform

Develop data products based on the Shared Data Foundation

Ensure high engineering standards through testing, code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident analysis

Further develop standards, templates, and components for integration, transformation, orchestration, and documentation
-
Deliver scalable, high-performance, and maintainable solutions in Databricks
-
Collaborate closely with Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Data Governance teams
-
Provide technical support to Domain Leads in requirements gathering, estimation, solution design, and production deployment

Own technical documentation, runbooks, operational handovers, and the stability of productive data products
Your Profile
-
Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification
-
Several years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or working with modern data platforms
-
Strong expertise in Databricks and cloud-based data platforms, ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem
-
Experience in building robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and batch processing, with additional experience in streaming considered an advantage

Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with PySpark and/or Spark SQL is a plus

Experience in data modelling and designing reusable, consumption-oriented data models

Familiarity with dbt or comparable frameworks for data transformation, testing, and documentation is desirable

Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines

Solid understanding of data quality, observability, monitoring, logging, error handling, and performance optimisation

Knowledge of SAP environments, particularly S/4HANA, as well as the integration of SAP and non-SAP data sources

Understanding of data governance topics such as access control, metadata, lineage, data catalogues, and sensitivity classification; experience with Unity Catalog is a plus

Experience in coordinating external developers or service providers is desirable
