Manager, Engineering, Aircraft Systems Architecture Development & Integration
NewThe Aircraft Systems Architecture Development and Integration Team roles and responsibilities are:
- Develop and maintain Systems Engineering practices incorporating greater use of model-based techniques to be employed by system engineers across the organization.
- Responsible for aircraft level development plan and associated development assurance activities.
- Define the aircraft level architecture and associated aircraft level requirements that best respond to the market and program management needs.
- Responsible for preliminary sizing tools development and validation for systems elements and their application.
- Responsible for the aircraft level systems tradeoffs that lead to the definition of the product configuration and architecture.
- Elaborate and maintain the aircraft level requirements with the support of various disciplines.
- Responsible for aircraft Level I/F requirements and definition (Functional and Physical)
- Responsible for oversight of the aircraft level Validation & Verification activities from the definition to the execution including the associated documentation.
- Responsible for aircraft level Validation and Verification Plan. Oversee and author where applicable of aircraft level test plans and procedure production. Oversight of the various work package V&V activities to ensure completeness at aircraft level
- Responsible for Validation and Verification Summary. Technical oversight of verification and validation reports from various disciplines to ensure completeness at aircraft level.
- Responsible for the aircraft level certification and safety activities and generation of the associated artifacts for the field of responsibility. Need to provide lead role for cross domain/function certification subjects.
- Lead cross system integration activities including aircraft integration activities (ex: aircraft Build Plan and V&V Harmonization).
- Lead and coordinate the PR investigation and resolution process for aircraft level issues.
- Technical coordination of aircraft level change management process (cross functional issues) and associated build plan (including V&V regression activities).
- Lead and/or oversight of assigned strategic technology projects.
- Provide Aircraft System Architect Support to assigned strategic technology projects
What are your contributions to the team?
- Lead and manage a team of aircraft systems architects across technology, aircraft and defense projects.
- Act as functional manager for ASADI.
- Ensure adequate quality level and adherence to Bombardier's Systems Engineering methods and standards for all deliverables produced.
- Work collaboratively with technical leaders (Fellows, senior experts, chief architects) to align on priorities and decisions
- Support building strong relationships with Bombardier’s systems suppliers and other industry stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and training to enable employees to reach their goals.
- Delegate and organize resources to meet company objectives.
- Lead manpower planning activities and budget preparation.
- Communicate effectively and promote open, efficient communication.
- Support continuous improvement of your team’s mandates.
How to thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- More than 15 years of relevant experience in aeronautical engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience in aircraft systems engineering, architecture and integration.
- Experience with early aircraft development phases and technology development.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Leadership style promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Fluency in French and English.
