Now Brewing – Manager, Engineering! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and its rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

As the manager, Engineering, you will play a critical role in advancing our enterprise technology solutions, supporting the platforms that underpin in-store partner tooling. This role sits at the intersection of Partner Tech, Retail Operations, and Enterprise Data & Analytics, driving platform-based solutions that balance standardization, flexibility, and innovation at scale.

You will execute the strategy, engineering, and delivery for Digital Experience platforms, ensuring these systems operate as enterprise-grade, resilient, and extensible capabilities that unlock business outcomes—not just point solutions. These products are at the heart of shift execution and should increasingly leverage AI and intelligent automation to improve productivity, accelerate decision-making, and enhance problem solving for partners and operators.

As a Manager, Engineering, you will…

· Lead core engineering quality and reliability – Establish engineering practices that improve platform stability, test coverage, defect prevention, and production readiness across Partner Tech platforms

· Own QA and testing strategy – Lead functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, performance, and release validation practices in partnership with product, engineering, business, and vendor teams

· Drive disciplined release management – Plan and coordinate releases, change readiness, deployment calendars, go/no-go decisions, cutover activities, and post-release validation for business-critical partner platforms

· Lead sustainment and production support – Oversee incident, problem, change, release, monitoring, and vendor support practices to protect business continuity and reduce recurring operational issues

· Improve automation and engineering efficiency – Advance test automation, deployment automation, monitoring, and operational playbooks that increase speed, consistency, and confidence in releases

· Develop a high-performing engineering and quality team – Coach engineers, SDETs, QA partners, and sustainment resources while building strong ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement practices

· Partner across product, business, technology, and vendors – Build trusted relationships with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies, remove blockers, improve support handoffs, and deliver measurable platform outcomes

· Bring a partner-first mindset – Ensure engineering decisions, sustainment priorities, and release execution support reliable experiences for Starbucks partners and the business teams that rely on these platforms every day
