Manager
The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of operational workflows, systems, personnel, and resources within an assigned functional area. The position ensures that work is performed efficiently, delivered on schedule, and complies with applicable regulatory and quality requirements while meeting client expectations. The Operations Manager serves as a technical and operational leader, providing oversight of staffing, resource planning, process execution, training, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and manage operational workflows and systems supporting client-facing activities within the assigned department.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for specialized operational functions and provide technical guidance to staff.
- Oversee staff scheduling, workload planning, resource allocation, and daily operational execution to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Act as the primary departmental contact for internal, client, and regulatory audits and inspections, including preparation of responses and implementation of CAPA activities.
- Manage departmental supplies, equipment, and budgets to support efficient operations.
- Develop, review, and implement SOPs, policies, and procedures while ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff while fostering teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with project management, business development, commercial teams, and senior leadership to support proposals and operational execution.
- Minimum requirement of BSc in Cell & Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.
- Significant experience in a relevant laboratory environment, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, project management, regulatory knowledge, problem-solving, and team-building skills are essential.
- The role requires the ability to effectively manage personnel, drive operational excellence, communicate with clients and senior management, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable range of Columbia, MO are encouraged to apply.
