Manager, Fixed Assets (1-Year Contract)

Our client, a reputable public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced and driven Manager, Fixed Assets to join their Finance team on a 1-year contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys leading teams, driving process improvements, and partnering stakeholders to ensure effective management and governance of fixed assets.

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Assets Accounting & Management

• Oversee the end-to-end accounting, tracking and reporting of fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and relevant financial reporting standards.
• Maintain accurate and complete fixed asset records.
• Manage fixed asset confirmation exercises with external stakeholders.
• Support year-end closing activities and audit requirements.

Stakeholder Advisory & Partnership

• Act as a subject matter expert on fixed assets matters.
• Advise stakeholders on accounting treatment, asset classification and policy requirements.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to operational and accounting-related issues.
• Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders on fixed assets initiatives.

Process Improvement & Digitalisation

• Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls and reporting accuracy.
• Drive the adoption of digitalisation, automation and AI tools to streamline workflows.
• Develop and maintain governance documentation, guidelines and SOPs.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and capability development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Support onboarding and skills development as processes evolve.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience.
• Proven experience in fixed assets accounting and management, preferably in the public sector or a large organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project implementation.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous with numbers and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of SAP.
• Experience with AI tools, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), data analytics and visualisation tools.
• Prior experience leading teams and driving transformation initiatives.
