Manager, FP&A - Creative & Services
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, FP&A - Creative & Services based in Canada.
This is a strategic finance leadership role supporting creative, localisation, and co-development teams within a global entertainment and technology environment.
You will own financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business support for key creative functions, with a particular focus on Sound and Music.
The role combines hands-on financial analysis with high-level business partnership, helping leaders understand performance and make informed decisions.
You’ll identify risks and opportunities, support cost optimisation, and develop models and scenarios that guide investment and resource allocation.
You’ll also lead two finance analysts, providing coaching and creating an environment focused on development and high performance.
The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, globally connected organisation.
It is suited to a finance professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial judgment, communication, and leadership skills.
Accountabilities:
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis for Sound and Music teams while overseeing finance support for broader Creative Arts, Localisation, and Co-Development activities.
- Partner with business leaders and budget owners to identify financial risks and opportunities, assess trade-offs, and influence business decisions.
- Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations that clearly communicate financial performance, key variance drivers, and recommended actions.
- Support cost optimisation initiatives by identifying efficiency opportunities, strengthening planning discipline, and improving resource allocation.
- Own cost allocation methodologies, rate-setting, and related processes to ensure costs are accurately planned, tracked, and allocated across projects and organisational initiatives.
- Develop ad hoc financial models, business cases, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Drive standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement across financial planning, reporting, and forecasting processes.
- Manage, coach, and develop two finance analysts while contributing to the growth of a high-performing finance team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global stakeholders to improve financial visibility and strengthen business performance.
- 7–10 years of experience in financial planning, financial analysis, FP&A, or a related finance function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; an MBA or advanced finance certification is an advantage.
- Previous people management or leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and support finance professionals.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to build robust analyses and financial scenarios.
- Strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, cost management, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear and actionable business insights.
- Strong business partnering skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively.
- Experience in gaming, entertainment, technology, subscription, or live-service business models is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Estimated base salary range of $80,300–$120,500 CAD per year.
