Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end freight audit process across all transport modes (road, air, ocean).
  • Ensure that invoices are matched accurately to contracts, rate cards, and transport events (e.g., delivery confirmations).
  • Ensure timely approval and release of payments to carriers and vendors per SLA.
  • Track and report on transport costs, variances, and financial KPIs.
  • Support financial forecasting, accruals, and month-end closing processes related to freight costs.
  • Collaborate with carriers to ensure timely invoicing, compliance with billing requirements, and resolution of disputes.
  • Lead carrier onboarding from a financial documentation and billing process perspective.
  • Identify discrepancies, overcharges, and accessorial errors; lead resolution with carriers and internal teams.
  • Provide cost breakdowns and savings reports to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation to shipments, business units, or customers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client finance/procurement teams for billing-related matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight audit & payment, finance operations,
    or transport cost control (preferably in LLP/4PL/3PL environments).
  • Minimum 3 years' of experience in transportation contracts, rate structures, and logistics processes.
  • Minimum 3 years' of experience with TMS platforms and freight audit tools.
  • Advanced Level Excel/data analysis skills; experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
