About the Role

MTN Nigeria is seeking an experienced FTTH Core Network Planning Manager to lead the design, planning and optimisation of its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) Core Data and Voice Network, ensuring cost-effective network architecture and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning and optimisation of the FTTH Core Network architecture.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders in developing network solutions.
• Translate business growth plans into network capacity and infrastructure requirements.
• Plan and manage network budgets, utilisation and capacity expansion.
• Drive the adoption of virtualisation, SDN and cloud technologies.
• Lead cloud deployment, testing, troubleshooting and validation.
• Analyse network traffic, protocol traces and performance trends to resolve issues.
• Direct and mentor network engineers to achieve performance targets.
• Develop strategies for network security, efficiency and service improvement.
• Prepare technical proposals, reports and executive summaries.

Requirements

• First degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• 6–13 years' relevant experience, including at least 4 years in telecommunications, particularly FTTH Core Network planning and design.
• Experience with BRAS/BNG, AAA, DNS, CDN and other FTTH Core platforms.
• Knowledge of FTTH technologies, including GPON, EPON, XG-PON and XGS-PON.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and 4G/5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) planning.
• Knowledge of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), TCP/IP, routing and switching.
• Experience in statistical modelling, analytics and network capacity planning.
• Fluency in English.
