Manager Fundraising (Healthcare)

Role Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director (Fundraising & Donor Relations), the Manager will support the Advancement Office's fundraising and donor engagement efforts by cultivating donor relationships, securing philanthropic support, and contributing to the development of fundraising capabilities across NHG.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing major gift fundraising activities, developing giving programmes, conducting donor research, supporting stewardship initiatives, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to advance NHG's fundraising objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Major Gifts Fundraising and Donor Management

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and existing major donors, including philanthropists, corporations, and foundations.

Manage the full donor engagement and gift cycle, from prospect identification and relationship building to solicitation, gift closure, and ongoing stewardship.

Structure and facilitate gifts to align donor intentions with NHG's funding priorities and strategic objectives.

Develop and implement donor engagement opportunities to strengthen relationships and maximize financial and non-financial contributions.

Prepare fundraising proposals, presentations, sponsorship decks, and other solicitation materials.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of current and prospective donors to support NHG's fundraising goals.

Key Outcomes

Contribute towards NHG's annual fundraising targets.

Expand and diversify fundraising revenue streams.

Establish and maintain a strong donor and prospect pipeline.

Percentage of Time: 50%

Donor Engagement, Campaigns and Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with teams across Major Gifts, General Giving, Stewardship, Advancement Communications, Prospect Research, and Advancement Operations to support departmental and organisational objectives.

Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, and stewardship activities.

Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising events and stakeholder engagements.

Coordinate the development and review of fundraising collateral, donor communications, and campaign content in collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and relevant stakeholders.

Key Outcomes

Increase staff participation in fundraising initiatives.

Increase public participation in giving campaigns.

Support the successful delivery of donor cultivation and stewardship events.

Ensure timely development and delivery of fundraising content and engagement materials.

Percentage of Time: 30%

Capacity Building and Community Development

Support the development of fundraising capabilities across NHG Headquarters and affiliated charity funds.

Share best practices and contribute to the growth of a collaborative fundraising community of practice within NHG.

Participate in initiatives that enhance fundraising competencies and stakeholder engagement across the organisation.

Key Outcomes

Foster a collaborative and high-performing fundraising community across NHG.

Percentage of Time: 20%

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, Arts, or related fields.

At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor relations, business development, partnerships, or a related field.

Experience managing donor or stakeholder relationships, preferably in a fundraising environment.

Experience using CRM systems and conducting donor or prospect research.

Strong understanding of fundraising principles and donor cultivation strategies.

Healthcare, medical research, or non-profit fundraising experience will be advantageous.

Proven ability to manage projects independently and drive initiatives to successful completion.

Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
