Position Summary\:

The Manager GME Training has direct accountability for the performance, operations, and staffing of all GME Training Program Coordinators and Administrators across the institution’s training programs. This role ensures consistent, high-quality administrative support aligned with ACGME requirements, institutional policies, and strategic initiatives. The Manager represents the GME administrative function and exercises decision-making authority in interactions between leadership, institutional GME leadership, and training program coordinators, training program administrators, and other administrative staff across multi-site operations. This position reports to the DIO/Director of GME. Works closely with GME Accreditations & Operations and GME Initiatives administration.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to\:

  • Conduct formal performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance management for assigned staff.

  • Develop and administer performance improvement and corrective action plans

    for training program coordinators and administrators

  • Exercise independent judgment to direct staff, assign work, and set priorities to meet operational objectives.

  • Maintain and promote open communications with DIO/GME Director, GME Administration Staff, and Program Directors/Coordinators to ensure expeditious follow-through with Department/Division and Committee meeting actions, changes in policies and educational, multidisciplinary and collaborative activities

  • Hold staff accountable for performance standards while fostering professional development and engagement.

As a successful candidate, you will\:

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC

  • Directly supervise staff, including assigning work, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and administering corrective actions.

  • Design, implement, and enforce standardized workflows and operational processes.

  • Ensure ACGME and GME compliance across all programs.

  • Collaborate on site visit preparation, AIR, and program reviews

  • Oversee APE creation and presentation to GMEC

  • Oversee ADS compliance

  • Review PLAs and submit for renewal

  • Oversee New Innovation Compliance for each program

  • Approve and manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and operational efficiency.

  • Review Program Specific ACGME and SSO Updates

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Assess staffing needs and determine appropriate staffing models for all assigned programs.

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

  • Set performance expectations, monitor productivity, and hold staff accountable for achieving results.

  • Provide short term coverage for program TPAs

  • Make and implement staffing decisions to ensure adequate coverage and operational continuity.

  • Support Innovation and Growth within Training Program Coordinators/Administrators.

  • Directly supervise and manage staff across multiple sites, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to standards.

GME Support & Engagement

  • Collaborate with Program Directors, DIO, Sr Manager (GME A&O) & Program Manager (GME Initiatives)

  • Prepare reports and memos as needed

  • Stay up to date with ACGME and other accreditation guidelines

  • Oversee Grant Applications for programs

  • Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.

  • Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
