Manager, Infrastructure Operations and Production Support Team
Core Responsibilities
1. Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
2. Leads and develops teams that provides network services, including designing, installing, configuring, and integrating new network technologies. Ensures network installations and services meet standards and align to department goals.
3. Provides expert level network design and debugging services to development teams. Works closely with the network team, IT developers, and key stakeholders to implement reliable, manageable, and secure solutions for external connections.
4. Leads the team and provides expert level telecom network services for complex issues elevated from the Support Center and Technical Services groups. Manages the team's troubleshooting and resolution of chronic and highly complex problems.
5. Leads the monitoring and maintenance of network system performance and identifies performance issues and trends. Implements improvements and identifies opportunities to automate manual system tasks. Develops and maintains telecom network documentation, policies, and procedures.
6. Completes network capacity planning activities, including monitoring the network and establishing network capacity metrics. Initiates actions to prevent network degradation caused by capacity issues.
7. Implements operational plans to achieve short and long term department goals and objectives.
8. Trains and mentors staff. Conducts formal training sessions and recommends training vendors.
9. Thoroughly understands and complies with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.
10. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least three years experience in network support. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree of equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer (CCIE), or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) preferred.
