Job Description

The main objective of the department is to assist the CRO and Deputy CRO in the management of MC Branch offices and subsidiaries in the Asia-Oceania region, of its related risk and insurance activities and support our senior executives in our head office in Tokyo by providing geopolitical intelligence, as well as supporting our various business groups in developing new businesses and providing relevant industry insights.

In doing so, you will collaborate deeply with our colleagues in our head office in Tokyo, as well as our branch offices and subsidiaries in the Asia-Oceania region. Therefore, you are expected to contribute by understanding the needs of our senior executives and business groups, support to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate relevant information the relevant business groups. The roles include but not limited to the followings:

  • As Manager of the Insurance risk management, lead the regional program and optimize the insurance arrangement for our branches and subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Understand the strategies and requirements of the Tokyo Head Office and support the activities of the business groups and its subsidiaries from an insurance perspective.
  • Develop and implement guideline of insurance procurement for the companies.
  • Lead the insurance risk management activities requested by the group subsidiaries and ensure high-quality operations.
  • To promote operational efficiency in the insurance procurement and insurance claim operations.
  • Act as a hub between our branches, offices and the subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region, and work closely with them to share insurance market information and take necessary actions.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or equivalent.
  • Significant knowledge on risk management, insurance procurement and internal control.
  • High proficiency in English language and Japanese language (JLPT Level N1 or ability to speak, read and write at business level) to communicate effectively through phone calls, emails and/or meetings with the head offices in Tokyo, as well as both local and expatriate staff in the branch offices and subsidiary companies.
  • Skills to create and present materials both in Japanese and English to communicate effectively with counterparties.
  • Attention to details, strong communicator, proactive interaction with the team and cross-department to enable smooth and efficient operation of daily tasks.
  • More than 3 years’ experience in abovementioned requirements.
