Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchase Manager to oversee and manage procurement operations within the food industry. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality food products, raw materials, and packaging supplies while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and adhering to food safety standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Management:
   

   • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet organizational goals.
     
   • Identify and evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
     
   • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors.
     

2. Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:
   

   • Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.
     
   • Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
     
   • Monitor stock levels and plan for seasonal demand fluctuations.
     

3. Quality Assurance:
   

   • Ensure procured products comply with quality and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FSSAI, FDA).
     
   • Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with hygiene and regulatory standards.
     

4. Budget and Cost Control:
   

   • Develop and manage the procurement budget to achieve cost efficiency.
     
   • Monitor market trends to secure competitive pricing and forecast cost changes.
     
   • Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
     

5. Vendor Management:
   

   • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
     
   • Regularly evaluate vendor performance based on key metrics like quality, delivery timelines, and pricing.
     

6. Sustainability and Compliance:
   

   • Promote sustainable sourcing practices to align with organizational goals.
     
   • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical procurement standards.
     

7. Reporting and Documentation:
   

   • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
     
   • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and inventory levels.
