MANAGER
Sale& Purchase / Newbuilding
• Liaise with brokers, trading firms, operators, and shipyards on vessel specifications and pricing.
• Liaise with shipyards on newbuilding vessel projects.
• Coordinate internally with the Technical Department on equipment and machinery specifications.
• Prepare proposals for top management review and approval.
• Arrange payment schemes together with the Accounts team.
• Coordinate sea trials and vessel delivery.
• Arrange vessel offers and inspections.
• Negotiate price and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) terms with buyers.
• Liaise with financiers on prepayment of loans and discharge of mortgages.
• Draft and finalize agreements between Owners–Managers and Manager–Manning companies.
Ship Management Support
• Prepare annual renewals of services required under US regulations, including insurance renewals (Federal COFR, Californian COFR/Oil Spill Organizations, Alaskan requirements, VGP).
• Arrange Federal documentation for newbuilding and take-over vessels.
• Prepare and submit annual Vessel General Permit (VGP) reports.
• Monitor vessel schedules and coordinate with the Marine Superintendent on additional documentation required under trade regulations (e.g. Alaska COFR).
• Prepare Biofouling and Ballast Water Management Plans under the HOD's supervision (GMS).
Financial Matters
• Monitor and assess the financial condition of the company.
Owner Relations
• Prepare quarterly reports on financial status and vessel condition for shipowners.
• Develop proposals for newbuilding projects or S&P opportunities to present to shipowners.
Arrange and organize meetings with shipowners.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a maritime discipline preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of strong leadership experience in shipping-related portfolios.
• Proven track record in achieving targets, operational excellence, and leading a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and high EQ, with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels to achieve business goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clients, employees at all levels, and Senior Management.
• Able to manage complex, high-stakes business issues and mitigate associated risks.
• Meticulous, with a strong commitment to delivering the highest standard of work.
• Japanese language proficiency is an advantage to support our Japan-based teams and ensure smooth communication with Japanese-speaking clients.
