As a Manager Legal & Compliance at Adani, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities critical to safeguarding the organization’s legal interests and supporting strategic business objectives.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Legal Advisory & Compliance: Provide timely and accurate legal advice to various business units on corporate governance, regulatory requirements, contract interpretation, and risk mitigation. Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts such as vendor agreements, joint venture agreements, non-disclosure agreements, licensing contracts, and service agreements. Collaborate closely with business teams to tailor contracts that safeguard organizational interests while enabling business growth.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks in business transactions and operations, and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. Work proactively to prevent legal disputes by anticipating issues and advising accordingly.
- Litigation Support: Coordinate with external legal counsels on ongoing litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters. Prepare case briefs, gather necessary documentation, and monitor case progress to ensure timely resolutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations relevant to the industry and ensure the organization remains compliant. Conduct impact analysis and communicate implications to internal stakeholders.
- Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining statutory registers, filing of legal documents with government authorities, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance norms. Facilitate board and committee meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
- Training & Development: Organize and conduct legal training sessions for employees to create awareness about legal compliance and company policies. Foster a culture of legal prudence and ethical behavior across the organization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, procurement, HR, and operations teams to provide integrated legal support aligned with business strategies. Encourage transparent and proactive communication to identify and resolve legal challenges.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain a comprehensive repository of legal documents, correspondence, and records ensuring confidentiality, easy retrieval, and audit readiness.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements within the legal function to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve service delivery to internal clients.
Educational Qualification
- LLB Degree from a recognized university or institute.
- Postgraduate qualifications or specialization in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, or related fields will be an advantage.
Experience:
- Experience 8+ years of professional experience in the legal industry, with a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, preferably with exposure to large-scale infrastructure, energy, or industrial sectors.
