About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong project manager with a solid software and digitalization background to lead AI and digital transformation initiatives in global manufacturing. This role is well suited for candidates with a background in computer science, information systems, or software engineering who have progressed into managing complex technical projects while maintaining a strong connection to technology and engineering.
Based in China, you will support the establishment of a Digitalization Center of Excellence for Asia, serving as both a technical and organizational interface between global teams and a growing local engineering organization. Beyond project coordination, you will contribute technical insight, challenge existing approaches, and help shape the application of AI solutions within manufacturing environments.
You will be part of the Digitalization Global Manufacturing team.
What You Will Do
- Lead complex digitalization projects with strong software, data, and AI components
- Act as a technical counterpart for software and AI engineers
- Translate manufacturing problems into clear technical and project scopes
- Coordinate global stakeholders and China‑based development teams
- Anchor and orchestrate activities of the Asia Digitalization CoE
- Drive agile execution (priorities, risks, dependencies, delivery)
- Support and scale AI‑based manufacturing use cases
- Communicate progress and technical decisions clearly to global teams
What You Need to Be Successful
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Systems, or similar
- 7+ years experience in software‑heavy or digitalization projects
- Strong background in software development projects
- Hands‑on technical mindset, ideally prior coding experience (e.g. Python, Java, TypeScript)
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms, data architectures, and modern dev stacks
- Experience working with international, cross‑functional teams
- Excellent English skills, ideally from education or work in an English‑speaking environment
- Comfortable working independently in a global setup
Bonus Points if You Have
- Practical experience with AI / ML or data‑driven projects
- Exposure to analytics platforms, data pipelines, or MLOps
- Background as a developer, technical consultant, or solution architect
- Experience helping to build or coordinate technical teams or CoEs
- Agile certifications or strong hands‑on Scrum / SAFe experience
