Manager, Marketplaces
Description
Position Summary:
Culligan Retail North America (CRNA) sells consumer water-filtration products, including the ZeroWater brand, through retail and e-commerce channels across the US and Canada. Online retail is where a growing share of our consumers shop, from Walmart.com and Target.com to the wider set of dot-com accounts and seller-model marketplaces. We are creating this role to put dedicated ownership behind that business and grow it.
As Manager, Marketplaces, you will own our marketplace business end to end: the accounts we sell today and the digital shelf behind them. The role is hands-on, with direct influence on growth and profitability and close partnership across Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance.
Responsibilities:
Marketplace Account Ownership:
- Owning the Walmart.com and Target.com businesses end to end, including assortment, item setup, pricing, promotions and in-stock performance.
- Managing the remaining online retail dot-com accounts and seller-model (3P) marketplaces, including fulfillment model, fees and account health.
- Building the day-to-day relationships with merchant, site and operations contacts at each account.
- Running a promotional and event calendar by account, from seasonal moments to retailer-led events.
Digital Shelf:
- Owning content, imagery, ratings and reviews, and search performance across marketplaces, working with Marketing on brand assets and messaging.
- Monitoring pricing and competitive activity across accounts and recommending the response.
Business Management and Profitability:
- Forecasting the marketplace business and supplying inputs to the weekly POS-driven sales process and to supply and demand planning (SIOP).
- Managing profitability by account, including fees, fulfillment costs, returns and promotional spend.
- Reporting performance by account with a clear read on what is working and what to change.
Cross-Functional Partnership:
- Partnering with Marketing, who owns marketplace advertising and retail media, on one integrated plan for the brand and the channel.
- Working with Supply Chain, Sales Operations and Finance so supply, order management and reporting line up with the channel plan.
- Supporting the VP, Sales with account-level input and sizing when new marketplace opportunities are evaluated.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will bring ownership, commercial judgment and a hands-on approach to CRNA. This person will have grown marketplace accounts in consumer products and will be comfortable working the detail of the digital shelf while keeping an eye on the P&L.
- The ideal candidate should also possess, at minimum, the following qualifications and attributes:
- 5+ years in e-commerce or marketplace account management in consumer products.
- Hands-on experience growing Walmart.com and Target.com, including item setup, content, pricing and promotional planning.
- Working knowledge of seller-model (3P) marketplaces, including fulfillment options, fees and account health.
- Command of the digital shelf: content, search, ratings and reviews.
- Analytical strength with POS, shipment and syndicated data, and fluency in Excel.
- Commercial acumen across profitability by account, promotional spend, fees and fulfillment costs.
- Working knowledge of marketplace retail media, such as Walmart Connect or Roundel, is preferred.
- Experience in consumer durables, home or household categories is preferred.
- Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth company is a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Target Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 salary per year plus bonus. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for competitive benefits, including paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, disability benefits and 401(k).
