Pay\: HK$97,787 to HK$143,298 [HMPS Point 9 to 19] per month (including Monthly Allowance)
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
We are looking for high calibre Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) professional to join the Hospital Authority (HA) Head Office Human Resources Division to take up the following role\:
Job
Reporting to Senior Manager (Occupational Safety and Health & Staff Health) in the Occupational Safety and Health & Staff Health Team, Human Resources Division, the OSH Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining and overseeing corporate OSH policies and safety manuals/guidelines in the area of occupational safety and hygiene such as ergonomic hazards (e.g. manual handling operations and display screen equipment), biological hazards (e.g. respiratory protection and ventilation in healthcare environments), psychosocial hazards (e.g. workplace violence), chemical hazards (e.g. hazardous substances), and physical hazards (e.g. noise, thermal stress, medical laser), etc. Key responsibilities are as follows\:
1. Develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate OSH management;
2. Provide professional advice on hazard management to clusters;
3. Develop, coordinate and implement corporate OSH initiatives/ improvement programmes and alignment of practice in specific hazards management, accident prevention and risk reduction programmes and related training plan to ensure the legal compliance and develop internal expertise;
4. Develop, review, oversee and monitor the implementation of corporate OSH policies, guidelines, procedures, and assessment protocols in the area of occupational safety and hygiene to meet the legislative requirements;
5. Explore and bring in state of art technology, international practices to improve risk control;
6. Coordinate and serve as resource person for hospital survey/ accreditation;
7. Establish electronic chemical safety management system, and monitoring mechanism for OSH management system implementation;
8. Serve as resource person and account manager for clusters; and
9. Provide executive support to concerned Workgroup/ Committee and other central administrative duties.
Entry Requirements
1. A University degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)/Occupational Hygiene (OH)/science/engineering;
2. Commit to obtain professional qualification in OH under the national accreditation recognition (NAR) scheme of the International OH Association (IOHA) (See Remarks 1); and
3. At least 5-year post university degree experience in management and / or professional role in OSH (full-time equivalent).
Preferable Attributes/Exposure
1. A University degree in science should be preferably in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, OSH, OH Healthcare or equivalent.
2. If holding a university degree in science or engineering, also obtain a diploma or higher in OSH/OH.
3. Working experience in healthcare sector.
4. Working experience in safety inspection and auditing, staff injury analysis and reporting.
5. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese as well as good presentation skills.
6. Have the ability to effectively liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Strong analytical, planning and organizing skills to manage multiple tasks independently in a large, busy and complex working organization efficiently and effectively.
8. Good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
9. Responsive, responsible, trustworthy, forward looking and self-motivated.
Remarks
1. Successful candidate who has not yet obtained the professional qualification in OH under NAR scheme of IOHA, is expected to commit to obtain respective professional qualification within the contract period. Fulfillment of this commitment will be taken into consideration for the renewal of the employment contract.
2. May be required to rotate to or take on projects in different OSH portfolios in HA for operational needs and professional development.
