Salary: $52,500–$58,350 annually

Standard Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:00-9:00 p.m.; on-site at the Sycamore Campus

POSITION OVERVIEW

The part-time Manager of Evening Programs leads Academy of Hope's evening academic program at the Sycamore Campus. Functionally comparable to an Assistant Principal within the evening program, the Manager supports high-quality teaching and learning, directly supervises evening academic adjunct instructors, and ensures consistent academic expectations during scheduled hours.

The Sycamore Campus serves workforce programming and advanced adult education learners, including Level 4/5 and Level 5 learners. Reporting to the Building Administrator/Deputy Chief Academic Officer, the Manager provides focused academic leadership, learner response, and essential site coordination during evening hours. Workforce faculty and staff retain their established reporting relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND ACADEMIC QUALITY

  • Provide visible instructional leadership for the evening academic program and maintain high expectations for teaching, learning, engagement, and persistence.
  • Ensure evening instruction aligns with Academy of Hope's curriculum, instructional framework, academic standards, and assessment practices.
  • Conduct classroom observations and learning walks; provide timely, evidence-based feedback and coaching to adjunct instructors.
  • Support rigorous, relevant, and differentiated instruction for adult learners, particularly Level 4/5 and Level 5 learners.
  • Review learner work, assessment results, course progress, and other academic indicators to identify instructional needs and needed supports.

SUPERVISION AND TALENT LEADERSHIP

  • Directly supervise evening academic adjunct instructors, including orientation, goal setting, coaching, performance monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Set clear expectations for instructional preparation, attendance, communication, professional conduct, documentation, and learner service.
  • Monitor adjunct attendance and coverage needs and coordinate with the Building Administrator to minimize disruption to instruction.
  • Address performance concerns promptly and document follow-up in partnership with the Building Administrator/Deputy Chief Academic Officer and Human Resources, as appropriate.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, and learner-centered evening academic team.

EVENING PROGRAM LEADERSHIP AND LEARNER SUPPORT

  • Serve as the primary academic leadership presence for the evening program during assigned hours and carry out delegated site-leadership responsibilities.
  • Support the orderly operation and closing of evening academic programming, including staff coverage, learner transitions, and escalation of urgent concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, respectful, and academically focused environment and apply school policies consistently.
  • Respond to learner concerns and instructional issues promptly, coordinating referrals or escalation when additional support is needed.
  • Monitor learner attendance, engagement, and academic progress and work with instructors and learner-support teams to coordinate timely interventions.
  • Coordinate with workforce and site-based colleagues on shared evening needs while respecting established reporting relationships.

DATA, COMMUNICATION, AND ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Use learner, attendance, assessment, and observation data to identify needs, communicate progress, and recommend focused improvements.
  • Ensure timely completion of required instructional records, adjunct evaluations, and incident documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Building Administrator/Deputy Chief Academic Officer regarding instructional quality, staffing, learner progress, and evening-program concerns.
  • Communicate expectations and program information clearly to instructors and learners and collaborate with relevant AoH teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to the part-time evening leadership role and assigned by the Building Administrator/Deputy Chief Academic Officer.
